Project Overview
In the dramatic and spectucular BOOOOOM of the burgeoning cryptocurrency scene in 2017, I contacted San-Francisco based developer Matt Moravec to inquire about working on a NEO based cryptocurrency project. Within weeks, we were off and running developing a vision for creating a digital identity system for contractors in the gig econonomy. Within 5 months, we were successful in raising over $2,000,000 in funds through an ICO in March 2018. Shortly after, we became the first app ever in the Apple App Store to sell products purchased through a cryptocurrency token —Thor Tokens.

We went on to build a business payments solution for paying 1099 Contract workers. It worked great for paying folks in USD, but we were unsuccessful in developing a token model to sustain the business.
My Contributions
I absolutely love having the opportunity to build a brand from ground zero, and that is exactly what I was able to do with Thor. I worked David Chin, CEO, and Matt Moravec, CTO, to visualize the solution we wanted to create for the gig economy. My role was to develop all graphic assets for our Pitch deck, whitepaper, website, blog posts, and social media content, in addition to designing the payments solution product we built for business'.

I also brought the brand into some of my Fine Art.

Promo Video

Instead of telling the story in chronological order, I'll get you started with a 21 second promo video I made to help build awareness for the product we had coming down the pipeline.

A compelling business plan, technical roadmap, and tokenomics overview were needed to raise the funds we would need to design and develop the solutions we envisioned. I was tasked with turning text on paper into visual imagery that would enhance readability and add interest to our vision.

Like so many startups, as we gained perspective, we found a need to shift directions and find singular focus. Our CEO saw a need to clarify a difference between our core brand, Thor Technology, associated with Thor Tokens —and our business payments solution, which we came to call Odin. Odin would be the product brand directed at business', and the Thor brand was to be the wallet app contractors would use to receive payments, sign up for affordable healthcare, and retirement savings.

After engaging with and getting feedback from companies who we thought would most benefit from our product, we took the feedback to heart and pivoted our product accordingly. Most notably, we iterated over several weeks with fast-growing San Francisco startup Yoshi, inc, who has a fleet of contractors delivering gas and automotive services, to build a custom payments solution that would take the pain out of their payroll process.
